Scientology & Me
This website has nothing to do with Scientology and so, to save everybody some time, I’ve decided to sit down and answer a few common questions that I get asked from time to time by those who are interested in my father’s life and work.
Are you a Scientologist?
I believe humankind can get better. However they choose to go about it is a personal choice. Over the years, I’ve found many things in Scientology which are useful to me and a few things which I either don’t agree with, don’t understand or don’t care for.
What about the Church of Scientology?
I do not work for the Church of Scientology. If you would like, please direct your compliments, grievances and questions regarding the Church of Scientology directly to them via their official website http://www.scientology.org
How much money did your father leave you?
In 1986 I was left the maximum gift permissible by law that would not be taxed. That was $100,000. My father was a strong proponent of the doctrine that a person should make his own way in life and this applied to his children as well. To the best of my knowledge, whatever money or properties he had when he passed away became property of the Church of Scientology.
How about OT III, OT VIII or apocryphal OT XV?
I know nothing about that. I never advanced that far in Scientology.
Can people violate the laws of nature by applying Scientology?
Not to my knowledge.
What about past lives? Have you lived before this life?
Your ideas are as good as mine.
Are you an Independent Scientologist?
Why didn’t you take over Scientology when your father passed away?
Let’s leave this one hanging for now.
John Travolta and Tom Cruise?
Never met Tom Cruise. I know John and I consider him a good friend.
Can you explain to me what this or that or the other thing I read in one of your father’s books means?
I like to paint.
What is the meaning of life?
How about this: life, like art, is about giving life meaning.
